Flabba Rimosco of Mabala Noise Entertainment (MNE) said the label is open for collaborations with Namibian artists. Rimosco was in the country to meet with Namibian artists. He says he was impressed by their humanity and has hopes of working with them.
MNE is the record label that is the success force behind artists such as DJ Bongz, Ms Jones, Lvovo, DJ Chynaman, the new rapper Du Boiz and Riky Rick.
MNE also announced that they have now signed Nasty C, DJ Finzo, Major League DJz, Gigi Lamayne, Pro (former Pro Kid), Zakwe and Zola. They have furthermore signed radio and television personalities such as Khanyi Mbau, Sowetan LIVE Mzansi’s Sexiest finalist Kay Sibiya, Mbali Nkosi as well as Generations: The Legacy actress Letoya Makhene.
The label recently also brought Chris Brown, Tinashe, Eve to South Africa earlier this month for a one-night-only show and has plans of hosting world-class events in Namibia in due course.
Nevertheless, Rimosco’s advice to Namibian artists is to always humble themselves regardless of what stage they are in the entertainment industry.
“Humble yourself regardless, whether you are there or not. Fans are what make you and if you appreciate them then you can go beyond ordinary,” said Rimosco.
Rimosco said it’s best that artists not imitate other people’s art, take their time, deviate from what is current, release good music and do more collaborations.
“If artists can start by mastering the art and working with other artists, it’s good to grow your brand and not only be all over the place but focus on what they good at,” he said.
He urged record labels and managements to first build a relationship rather than just think about money.
“Everyone is in the business for money but building a relationship is much more important than that because a good relationship is where your wealth will come from. Choose your battles well, it’s just a matter of knowing where and how to do it,” said Rimosco.
