Bolt accused of cheating in Rio

Usain Bolt has been photographed in bed with a Brazilian student in Rio de Janeiro amid rumours he would be marrying his girlfriend Kasi Bennett after the Olympics.

WhatsApp photos emerged online showing Bolt in bed with 20-year-old Rio student named Jady Duarte, after the sports star’s 30th birthday on Sunday, 21 August. The mother-of-two is the alleged widow of drug kingpin Douglas Donato Pereira, also known as Diná Terror.

One photo shows the Jamaican gold medallist kissing the woman’s cheek and in another he is posing with his arm around her. Bolt was also caught on video enjoying the company of different women during a weekend of partying in Rio, including one where he is with a twerking woman in a club.

Duarte tweeted in Portuguese to say her night with the sprinter was “not a big deal”, admitting she had not realised who the wildly popular athlete was until her friend pointed it out.

Bolt, who has been dating his Jamaican girlfriend Bennett for two years, was also photographed dancing with another woman during his 30th birthday celebration in Rio.

This came a day after the athlete’s sister, Christine Bolt-Hylton, told The Sun that Bolt and his girlfriend were “serious” and expected the couple to get engaged on his return to the UK.

But it looks like Bolt’s antics may well have landed him in the doghouse and that his girlfriend Kasi Bennett was not impressed.

Bennett made her thoughts on the controversy clear when she liked an Instagram meme which has a side-by-side image of her and Duarte with the caption: ‘When you girl is Selfridges, and you cheat on her with Primark.

In an interview with Extra, Duarte insisted that she was not behind the leak and that the her new-found fame is unwarranted. “It’s very negative,” she said: “I never wanted to be famous, I’m dying of shame.”

Duarte said she met the track star at a club in Barra, west Rio. After the incident, Bolt followed her on Instagram but the student said she was not proud of the pictures.

Duarte told Extra that the impact of the pictures had “left her mortified”.
She said: “It was not a big deal. It was normal. I would rather not talk about it in order not to complicate matters. Like I said, it was normal.”

The revelation may not have negative consequences for Bolt, who revealed in the Daily Telegraph that he believed cheating was acceptable.

“Jamaican culture is different, when you look at women and men having more than one [partner], it’s different,” he said.

“I’ve noticed that in Britain every famous person, as soon as they get famous, they have to get married — like, it’s a rule. And I’m like, that’s not fair!”

He also said it was difficult to “stay with one woman” when there was temptation from others when you were a celebrity.

“It’s hard for you to stay with one woman because girls are literally just throwing themselves at you,” he said. “And that’s unfair to us guys. It’s hard to say no, you know what I mean?”

Bolt, who has not verified the photographs, has yet to comment. He flew in to London’s Heathrow airport on Monday 22 August.
