Windhoek – Earlier this week, the Cultural Officer of the German Embassy, Ullrich Kinne, handed over coaching certificates from the German Football Association (DFB) to two Namibian coaches James Britz and Mervin Mbakera.
Britz is head coach of the Under 20 women’s national team while Mbakera is in charge of the Under 17 women’s national team.
Both youth coaches successfully completed a three-week international coaching course under the auspices of the DFB in Hennef, Germany, in September this year.
The International annual coaching course held in Hennef, is jointly organized by the DFB and the Federal Foreign Office. This year, 26 coaches from 20 countries took part in the course and training proved to be extremely effective in developing coaching skills.
Both course participants praised the programme and the experience they were able to
gain during the course.
Other participants in previous coaching courses were; incumbent Brave Warriors head coach Ricardo Mannetti and Brave Gladiators mentor Jacqui Shipanga, amongst others.
