A local commercial radio station, Buzz-Fi, hit the airwaves few weeks ago – completely unannounced, catching many unaware.
The online radio station is currently available on a website, and is busy making its way to other streaming platforms.
Intelligent Digital Solutions (IDS), founded by young entrepreneur Jonas Nendongo, owns Buzz-Fi radio.
“We do not have presenters, but we have 11 personalities [who] create their own content during the shows. The aim is to create a social product that will captivate the youth between the ages of 16 to 45,” Nendongo says.
The innovative entrepreneur explains that Buzz-Fi’s target audience is both young and old, and Buzz-Fi Radio will deliver total entertainment as well as update the audience on issues that matter in Namibia, Africa and the world at large.
The radio focuses on six main areas, which are entertainment, education, religion, social culture, sport and politics. Buzz-Fi operates from 7h00 to 21h00 on weekdays and Sundays, while on Fridays and Saturdays it operates from 07h00 to 24h00.
“Buzz-Fi Radio is just a platform for different personalities who have different ambitions, backgrounds and talents or skills,” Nendongo says.
